Hirose Expands WTB Series with Center Lock Version

    07/15/2019

DOWNERS GROVE, ILLINOIS -- Hirose has extended the locking options for its 2.0mm pitch DF51 Series wire-to-board connector. The new DF51K Series features a space-saving center lock design. The user-friendly positive lock provides a clear tactile click and secures a reliable connection. Available in multiple widths, the center lock lever offers high density mounting and enables easy operation. In addition, the center lock prevents damage during cable assembly and ensures secure mating. It also enables users to recognize reverse mating and prevents mechanical interference.

Part of the SignalBee connector family, the DF51K Series is designed for a broad range of products including amusement equipment, industrial machinery, medical equipment, office equipment, robotics, smart meters, water heaters and more.

"High signal performance combined with reliability and durability are the benchmarks of the SignalBee connector family. Hirose continuously works to offer customers more connector options that simplify design, ease assembly and improve end-product performance. Expanding our DF51 Series, the DF51K with the center lock design provides high density performance and simplified assembly all in a space saving package," said Bill Kysiak, Product Marketing Manager for Hirose Electric USA.

To meet application requirements, the DF51K Series crimp connector is available in a number of variations including straight, right angle and single or dual row. The DF51K is offered in 6, 18 and 30 positions. Visually and mechanically polarized features prevent reverse mating and incorrect mating between a different number of positions. Gold and tin plating options support various application needs. In addition, the DF51K wire-to-board connector accepts resin sealing to protect against water and dust.

The UL/C-UL certified DF51K series has a unique terminal design. However, it can be crimped using the DF11 Series applicator. The connector accepts from AWG #22 to AWG to #30 cables. These connectors are capable of being potted up to 3 mm. The DF51K Series wire-to-board power connector has a rated voltage of 650V AC/DC and an operating temperature of -55 degrees C to +105 degrees C.
