IDT (Integrated Device Technology) has announced highly integrated wireless-power transmitters optimized for the WPC (Wireless Power Consortium) Tx-A5, Tx-A6, and Tx-A11 configurations. The new products expand IDT's portfolio of WPC Qi-compliant magnetic-induction transmitters with ICs optimized for single-coil 5-V and three-coil 12-V applications. The IDTP9035 and IDTP9036 are high-efficiency, feature-rich wireless-power transmitters. The IDTP9035 is designed to meet the requirements of the WPC Tx-A5 and Tx-A11 (5-V) specifications, while the IDTP9036 is designed to meet the WPC Tx-A6 (12-V) specification. IDT has optimized the IDTP9035 for a single-coil configuration with a standard 5-V supply input, allowing customers to reduce their bills-of-materials for cost-effective, low-voltage power adaptors. The IDTP9036 supports a three-coil configuration and accepts a 12-V supply, making it well suited for automotive applications. As with IDT's previously released IDT9030 (Tx-A1) Qi-certified transmitter, both new transmitters are fully compatible with any Qi-compliant receiver, such as the IDTP9020. Qi-compliant wireless-power technologies are gaining strong traction in charging pad, automotive, industrial, and other consumer-electronics applications. "We've expanded our award-winning wireless-power portfolio to address additional markets and applications," said Arman Naghavi, vice president and general manager of the Analog and Power Division at IDT. "Our [new transmitters provide] significant system-level integration and optimization, while meeting the requirements of the WPC Tx-A5, Tx-A6, and Tx-A11 specifications. This enables our customers to significantly reduce their system component count, board area, and cost to deliver superior wireless-charging products in convenient and attractive form factors." Similar to the IDTP9030, the highly integrated IDTP9035 and IDTP9036 transmitters significantly reduce board footprint and BOM cost compared to existing devices. Both ICs are capable of multi-mode operation, supporting both the Qi standard and proprietary formats for improved safety, added features, and increased output-power capability. The IDTP9035 and IDTP9036 are currently sampling to qualified customers. They are available in a 48-lead 6- x 6-mm VFQFPN package. IDT Wireless-power products deeplink
