ITAC Systems, a manufacturer of rugged HMIs (human-machine interfaces), has announced a new family of rugged back-lit metal keyboards for kiosk and demanding industrial applications. The keyboards each have 65 laser-etched keys (black, grey or sliver), individually lit by LEDs (blue, green or red), and an integral touchpad.. The keys are made from temperature-resistant polycarbonate and the brushed stainless steel front panels are supported on an aluminium alloy back plate. When properly mounted, the whole assembly is rated to IP65, making it dust-proof and liquid-proof, and its robust construction provides high tolerance against vandalism. Designated the ITMKB-64A-TP-BLS series, the keyboards come with PS/2 or USB interfaces, operate from a single +5 V supply, and draw 20 mA. They meet relevant international safety and EMC requirements and are CE compliant. Custom layouts are available to meet the requirements of individual applications. ITAC Systems
