KEMET has introduced a new range of Tantalum Stacked MnO2 capacitors. The TSM Series is targeted for applications requiring high capacitance with limited board space in the computer, consumer/gaming, medical, military/aerospace, telecommunications and transportation markets. The KEMET TSM Series offers a wide range of benefits such as high volumetric efficiency, very low ESR, high capacitance and surge capability. Available in COTS Grade and with established reliability options, these surface mountable devices can be specified with a variety of capacitance and performance characteristics by stacking two, three, four or six standard EIA case size discrete components. KEMET offers this solution with its T493 Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) Series capacitors. However, custom stacks are also available with other KEMET Tantalum surface mount products. "Our new TSM Series surface mount capacitors were developed utilising standard EIA case size discrete components assembled into just one device," said Stanley Garrett, KEMET Technical Product Manager. "These custom combinations result in high capacitance and very low ESR in a single footprint, which makes them an ideal solution for applications such as power supplies for a wide range of products."
