Lattice Semiconductor Corporation (NASDAQ: LSCC) today announced that, following the publication and widespread adoption of its Power 2 You guide to power management, Lattice is launching the worldwide Power 2 You Seminar Series in October 2011. The seminar will include comprehensive practical and technical presentations that combine basic design principles, advanced programmable power and platform management concepts, and real-world power and platform management application examples. Seminar topics will include:

  • Reliable Voltage Monitoring and Reset Generation
  • Sequencing, Monitoring and Reset Distribution
  • Integrating Hot-swap Controller with Sequencing and Monitoring
  • Converting Analog DC-DC Converters into Digital Point of Load (POL) Regulators
  • Power Management and Fault Logging for Large Boards
Power and platform management experts from Lattice will lead the seminars, which are free; however, pre-registration is required. Each attendee will receive a copy of the seminar materials, as well as the Power 2 You comprehensive guide to power management. In addition, five attendees at each seminar location will win a Lattice Power Manager breakout board. "As power and platform management become more complex and critically important in board design, the traditional approaches to power and platform management become less and less effective," said Srirama Chandra, Lattice Senior Marketing Manager for Programmable Mixed Signal Solutions and author of Power 2 You. "This seminar will teach board designers how to implement real world power and platform management design solutions, while reducing cost and accelerating time to market." Prices of All Power Manger II Evaluation Boards and Platform Manager Devices Reduced In addition to launching the Power 2 You Seminar Series, Lattice is simultaneously lowering the cost of all five Power Manager II evaluation boards by 50%. "These boards can implement most of the power management functions reviewed in the seminar," said Chandra. "In addition, users can add their own custom circuit in the breadboard area for enhanced board- level verification." Lattice is also lowering the cost of all Platform Manager™ devices by up to 20%. "By making our Platform Manager devices more accessible to cost-sensitive designs and applications, we expect the use of integrated platform management to grow even more rapidly," said Chandra. Seminar Registration is Now Open Attendees can register for the seminar and choose their preferred date and location on the Lattice Semiconductor website at www.latticesemi.com/Power2you. Attendees can also register for the seminar through their local Lattice sales representative or distributor, identified on the Lattice website at www.latticesemi.com/sales About the Lattice Power Manager Family Lattice Power Manager devices deliver highly accurate, flexible and low cost solutions for power supply and processor/DSP management. By integrating a versatile PLD core with Analog-to-Digital (ADC) converters, Digital-to-Analog Converters (DAC), differential sense analog monitors, I2C communication and in-system programmability, Lattice Power Manager devices increase board reliability, decrease component count and help cut costs. About the Platform Manager Family Named 2010 "Product of the Year" by Electronic Products magazine, the Platform Manager devices include both a power management and a digital board management section, enabling designers to reduce board management costs by integrating power and digital board management functions. In addition to reducing costs, designers are also taking advantage of other Platform Manager capabilities, such as the ability to log power supply and other board faults. About Lattice Semiconductor Lattice is the source for innovative FPGA, PLD, programmable Power Management and Clock Management solutions. For more information, visit www.latticesemi.com.
