Low-profile inductors handle currents up to 180A

    03/26/2013

Vishay extends its IHLP® family of low-profile, high-current inductors by the new IHLP-8787MZ-5A series. It features industry-high rated currents up to 180A and a high operating temperature to +155°C. The series is available via the distributor Rutronik immediately. The IHLP-8787MZ-5A offers high efficiency with max. DCR from 0.17m ohm to 28.30m ohm and a wide range of inductance values from 0.22μH to 100μH. The new inductor handles high transient current spikes without hard saturation. Packaged in a RoHS-compliant, 100% lead (Pb)-free shielded, composite construction that reduces buzz noise to ultra-low levels, the device is specified for a wide operating temperature range with high resistance to thermal shock, moisture, mechanical shock and vibration. With a frequency range up to 1MHz, the device serves as a high-performing, space- and power-saving solution for voltage regulator module (VRM) and DC/DC converter applications as well as high-temperature automotive applications, including engine transmission control units, diesel injection drivers, entertainment and navigation systems, noise suppression for motors and power seats and mirrors.
