Maxim Integrated Products was recently named the 2010 "Manufacturer of the Year" (Active Components) by the National Electronics Distributors Association (NEDA). The award, granted annually since 1990, acknowledges the NEDA member who best exemplifies the spirit of partnership in the electronics distribution industry. NEDA's selection of Maxim for this award acknowledges the tremendous progress the Company has made in executing the distribution strategy it launched in December 2007. Over the last few years, Maxim has made numerous operational improvements to advance its distribution strategy. Key initiatives include: building an internal distribution-support organization comprising experienced distribution executives, field personnel, and customer service; realigning global policies and procedures to meet distribution needs; and developing technical training programs and literature resources for distribution field staff. Altogether these initiatives have greatly increased the ease of doing business with Maxim, helping to ensure the success of the Company's expanded customer base and distribution partners. "Maxim's transformation and commitment to distribution over the last three years has been nothing short of remarkable," commented NEDA President Brian McNally. "They have partnered with authorized distribution to increase customer reach and satisfaction levels." "Three years ago, we made a strategic decision to engage with the distribution channel for its demand-creation capabilities," explained Matt Murphy, Maxim's Vice President of Worldwide Sales & Marketing. "This required a substantial change in Maxim's culture and approach towards distribution, which is why this award means so much to us now. It signifies our rapid progress in executing this new strategy, as well as the strength of our commitment to our distribution partners." Jason Green, Managing Director of Maxim's Corporate Distribution, added: "I would like to thank our key partners--Avnet, Digi-Key, Newark, and Rochester Electronics--for embracing the new Maxim and our ambitious plans three years ago. Together, we have built a sustainable, long-term model for success." www.maxim-ic.com
