Micropower Direct unveils compact, 8W, isolated MiniDIP DC/DC converters

    05/06/2016

Available immediately from MicroPower Direct, the MG800xRW series provides 8W of output power in a space saving MiniDIP package. They are specifically designed to provide the compact size, high power density, I/O isolation and model selection required by a wide range of space-critical board-level applications.

Twenty one models operate from wide 2:1 inputs of 9 to 18, 18 to 36 or 36 to 75 VDC, providing outputs of 3.3, 5, 12, 15, 24, ±12 or ±15 VDC. Standard features include efficiency as high as 86%, 1,500 VDC input/output isolation, continuous short circuit protection, tight line/load regulation and low noise operation. The MG800xRW series is approved to EN 60950 and the MTBF (per MIL HDBK 217F) is greater than 1.06 Mhours.

The MG800xRW family is packaged in a compact minDIP case that requires very little board space. The pin-out is industry standard and all case materials meet UL94-V0 requirements. Each model is specified for operation over the wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +80°C with no heat sinking required. Cooling is by free air convection.

The MG800xRW series is an ideal solution for a variety of board level power distribution applications requiring miniature size, robust performance, and high power density.
