Molex acquires ProTek Medical

Molex, a manufacturer of interconnect solutions, announced the acquisition of ProTek Medical by Molex Ireland Holdings. Headquartered in Sligo, Ireland, ProTek Medical specialises in supplying custom solutions for medical device manufacturers in the global medical industry.

 

“This strategic acquisition broadens the scope of our integrated medical solution offerings and significantly strengthens our medical device design, manufacturing, and test capabilities,” according to Tim Ruff, senior vice president of business development and corporate strategy, Molex. “ProTek Medical excels in cleanroom injection moulding and assembly, has an extensive metrology lab, and the quality and regulatory expertise that is critical to global medical device manufacturers.”

 

ProTek Medical will continue to operate as a subsidiary of Molex Ireland Holdings. Founded in 1995, ProTek Medical has a diverse portfolio, with proven success in applications that include cardiac rhythm management components, infusion finished devices, and vascular delivery devices. A recipient of numerous customer awards, ProTek Medical has earned an industry reputation for design, engineering, manufacturing, finished assembly and testing of critical medical devices.

 

ProTek Medical works closely with customers to ensure a seamless transition from prototype to production. Their experienced team has built valued partnerships with a number of top tier medical device, biotech and pharmaceutical manufacturers in Europe and North America. This acquisition also expands the Molex medical footprint to Ireland, which has a large concentration of successful medical device companies.
