Murata adds MLCCs with guaranteed operating temperatures of 105°C and 125°C

    06/12/2013

Murata today announced that they have commercialized the world's first 0402-size (1005-size metric 1.0 x 0.5mm) 1μF monolithic ceramic capacitor with a guaranteed operating temperature of 105°C (X6S) and a rated voltage of 25 V. In addition, Murata has also commercialized the world's first 0805-size (2012-size metric 2.0 x 1.25mm) 4.7μF monolithic ceramic capacitor with a guaranteed operating temperature of 125°C (X7S) and a rated voltage of 50 V. Electronic equipment is becoming increasingly more advanced with an expanding range of functions, and, as a result, the operating temperatures of sets are increasing, raising the need for higher guaranteed operating temperatures and higher capacities. In response, Murata has successfully expanded the capacity of monolithic ceramic capacitors that are built into all kinds of electronic equipment, with guaranteed operating temperatures of 105°C and 125°C.
