Murata Power Solutions establishes design centre for sub-5-W DC-DC converters; prompts UK office move

    12/03/2012

Murata today announced that Murata Power Solutions' UK operations have moved to a new facility within Milton Keynes. With an increasing focus on building a centre of design excellence for low power DC-DC converters, the company is keen to attract power-design engineers to join them. The previous site suited manufacturing and distribution operations that no longer take place in Milton Keynes, so the search was conducted within the area to locate a facility that better met the requirements of a design and prototype manufacturing operation. "We are proud of our continued presence in Milton Keynes", comments Tasuo Bizen, CEO and President, Murata Power Solutions "Our company history has its origins back 60 years when the first pulse transformers were made by Newport Instruments. The Milton Keynes design centre complements the five other design locations across Canada, United States, China, and Japan each having a specific product-development focus. We look forward to writing the next chapter of Murata's presence in Milton Keynes, UK." In addition to having vacancies for power-design engineers, Murata Power Solutions is proud of the success of its apprenticeship programme. Young people join the company and spend time in each department prior to finding their niche, a number becoming electronics engineers. Murata
