Molex Incorporated expands its innovative Brad® Micro-Change® M12 Circular Hybrid Technology (CHT) Connector System with the addition of a new 8-pole (4+4) connector featuring 2 Cat5e twisted-pair data lines and 4 power lines capable of carrying up to 6.0A. Combining power and data lines into one connector, the Brad Micro-Change CHT Connector System reduces cabling requirements and lowers installation time and associated costs. The overmoulded IP67-sealed interface provides reliable connectivity in harsh industrial environments and is ideally suited for industrial process and automation control applications, HVAC control systems, telecoms infrastructure and base stations as well as other rugged applications that require power and data in one device. The wrap-around metal shielding allows power and Cat5e signal to be combined in one connector without losing optimum signal integrity and performance. The 2 overlapping tubes channel the signal through the connector without affecting crosstalk and Electromagnetic Interference. The new 8-pole (4+4) Micro-Change CHT connector is currently available in the M12 threaded form factor. "The unique Molex shielding concept of the Micro-Change Circular Hybrid Technology Connector is not limited to the M12 format," explains Gerd Klaiber, European product manager for integrated products, industrial at Molex, "we are well-equipped to adapt the technology to meet specific customer needs and requirements."
