New PCB-type AC-DC power supplies from TDK-Lambda have 10 year life

    03/23/2011

Power supply expert TDK-Lambda EMEA, a group company of the TDK Corporation, has extended the reach of its ZWS-BAF series of PCB-type AC-DC power supplies by adding two lower power models. The 50 Watt ZWS50BAF and 75 Watt ZWS75BAF combine high efficiency even at low load conditions, with a wide operating temperature range, small size and up to ten-years electrolytic capacitor life, reinforcing TDK-Lambda‘s competitive advantage in the general industrial equipment market. As with all models in the ZWS-BAF series the new low power models have active power factor correction and high input transient and surge protection to IEC61000-4-4,5, and operate from a universal input of 85 to 265Vac or 120-370Vdc to meet a wide range of applications, including factory automation, test & measurement and LED signage. Offered with a choice of output voltages from 3.3V to 48V, each model in the ZWS-BAF series can be adjusted by up to ±10% of its nominal voltage to accommodate non-standard system voltages. Small in size and offering an efficiency of up to 88%, which is considered high for a PCB-type AC-DC power supply, all models in the ZWS-BAF series feature an operating temperature range of -10 to +70°C, allowing 100% load operation in a 50°C environment. Standard features include over current and over voltage protection circuitry; an optional remote on/off is also available. With active power factor correction (PFC) that meets EN61000-3-2, the ZWS-BAF models have a 3kVac input to output isolation and meet conducted and radiated EMC conforming to EN55011/EN55022-B, FCC-B, VCCI-B. They are delivered with TDK-Lambda's five-year warranty, are safety-approved to UL/CSA/EN60950-1 and EN50178 and carry the CE mark, according to the LV Directive.
