Nichicon adds Mark Gebbia to engineering team

Nichicon (America), a leader in the electronics industry’s aluminum capacitor sector, is proud to introduce Mark Gebbia, Bartlett, IL, as the newest member of its engineering team. Gebbia joins Nichicon with over 30 years of experience in the capacitor industry. Previously, he served as Director of Engineering and Quality Assurance at Illinois Capacitor, based in Lincolnwood, IL. There he managed every aspect of the company’s quality program and applications engineering.

Gebbia will be working closely with Nichicon’s sales team, answering customer questions regarding a new application or quality issue. He will also collaborate with customer engineering teams to best meet their design needs, a Nichicon emphasis that ensures that products optimize end-product design. Gebbia will develop relationships with manufacturers and train internal and manufacturer’s representative staff as needed, calling on his extensive experience in personnel training. 

In a field expected to see tremendous growth in the next few years, Gebbia’s electronics know-how will allow Nichicon to remain at the forefront of the capacitor market. Last year, Global Industry Analysts, Inc. reported, “The global market for Electronic Components is projected to reach US $233.1 billion by 2020, driven by the growing penetration of smart electronics in key industrial sectors such as industrial, automotive, healthcare and transportation.” Nichicon is a leading innovator of capacitors that serve these very sectors.

Prior to his achievements at Illinois Capacitor, Gebbia worked as the quality manager at Plastic Capacitors Inc. in Chicago, where he managed all quality functions.
