Orion Fans has developed a family of Electronically Commutated (EC) fans that offer a low power, dual speed, energy-efficient cooling solution. Designed for large, power hungry equipment, the EC Series fan speed settings can be pre-programmed at the factory to simplify installation and deliver even more power savings. The EC Series fans utilize a brushless DC motor with a single or universal AC input. EC fans incorporate voltage transformation within the motor to provide low power ratings of 8W at low speed and 26W at high speed.

The EC Series dual speed fan feature standard fan speeds of 1400 RPM and 2200 RPM with airflow values of 300 CFM and 480 CFM respectively. Corresponding noise levels are 44 dB and 55 dB. The low noise EC fans are well suited for a wide range of applications in both residential and commercial buildings.

"Energy-efficiency is one of the most important performance specifications for fan manufacturers, and the EC Series represents a significant advancement in power saving technology. The fans offer energy savings of up to 30%, helping customers meet energy-consumption requirements from agencies like ENERGY STAR," said David Luna, VP of Marketing for Orion Fans.

The brushless EC Series motor is thermally protected, and has an operating temperature of -25C to 50C. The ball bearing design has a life expectancy of 40,000 hours (L10 at 40C). Available in 115 VAC and 230 VAC versions, the EC Series is currently offered in 250mm frame size, with 225mm and 280mm sizes available soon.

The EC Series fans have already been used for electronic cabinet, air-conditioners, refrigerators, chillers, range hoods, ventilation systems and more.

EC fans start at $135.00 in small quantities.
