    Patti Engineering supports Youth in Engineering at Michigan Future City Competition

    Patti Engineering, a leader in control systems integration, announced its participation for the ESD Michigan Regional Future City Competition for the fifth consecutive year. Organized by the Engineering Society of Detroit (ESD), the Michigan Regional Future City Competition is a program where sixth, seventh and eighth grade students, a teacher and volunteer mentors team up to design a city of the future.

    The theme for the 2015 Future City Competition is “Feeding Future Cites” which means that each team’s design must center around two foods (one vegetable and one protein). The teams must design a way to produce enough of each within its city’s borders to feed all of its citizens for at least one growing season, while considering the size and location of the city, as well as the critical elements required to grow such foods - light, climate, air quality, space, water, soil and nutrients.

    Patti Engineering will send a team of engineers to the ESD Michigan Regional Future City Competition on January 26 at Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, MI, where they will see projects presented from participating teams. These engineers will act as judges and deem one worthy team the winner of its “Best Use of Automation Technology” award.
