In this podcast Bob Green, an engineer at Keithley Instruments, talks to Alix Paultre of Power Systems Design about the challenges involved in testing low-power devices and other precise measurement needs. There has been an explosion in Web-based portable, battery-powered devices from cell phones to medical products. More and more of these devices communicate wirelessly, which requires short bursts of power. For all of these designs, the critical imperative is to manage power consumption. Keithley recently introduced their Series 2280S Precision Measurement, Low Noise, Programmable DC Power Supplies with the speed and dynamic range essential for measuring standby current loads and load current pulses that battery-powered wireless, medical, and industrial devices produce.
