Phihong USA, a leader in the development of Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) technology solutions, has released a new series of 30W, single-port PoE midspans designed to power IEEE802.3at-compliant applications, including: IP telephones, security cameras, IP print servers, and wireless, Bluetooth, WiMax access points.
The new 30W PoE midspans are a limited power source (LPS) rated for 56VDC output, are certified to UL/cUL and CE safety specifications, and have built-in over-voltage, over-current, and short-circuit protections. The series also features an LED indicator capable of communicating four load-detection and connection statuses.
“PoE midspans supply reliable, uninterrupted power to connected electronics through existing LAN cables, which eliminates the cost of installing power outlets and electrical cabling in less accessible applications, like security cameras, and, when used in conjunction with a centralized, uninterruptible power supply, provide continuous power even in the midst of outages, which is an especially critical benefit in our increasingly connected world,” said Keith Hopwood, vice president of Phihong.
POE29U-1AT Series PoE midspans have a non-vented case that measures 140mm (5.51”) x 65mm (2.55”) x 36mm (1.42”), weigh 0.2kg (7.58oz), and are available with a 3-wire, C14 AC input connector. Operating temperatures for the series span -20° to +50°C, and allowable humidity spans 5–90%. Pricing for single-unit quantities starts at $32.
