Press-Fit Capacitors Eliminate the Need for Solder

    09/18/2019

Fort Worth, Texas – TTI, Inc., announces the availability of KEMET’s new Press-Fit Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors. The ALF20 and ALF40 series press-fit capacitors eliminate the need for solder, and therefore, the associated production and quality issues. They are the next evolution of snap-in capacitors, providing reliable electrical contact and the same vibration performance as soldered snap-in terminals.

Both series offer high ripple currents, good surge capability, and long-life performance. The ALF2 offers voltages up to 600 VDC, with a lifetime up to 18,000 hours at +85°C. The ALF40 offers voltages up to 500 VDC, with a lifetime up to 9,000 hours at +105°C. Benefits include skipping the soldering process and eliminating fractured/cold solder joints, easy insertion after the production washing process, and the capability to exchange components in the field. Both series are available in four and five-pin configurations.
