    FUSB300C Programmable USB Type-C Controller

Programmable USB-C controller from Fairchild now shipping from Mouser

    06/18/2015

Mouser Electronics, an authorized distributor with the latest semiconductors and electronic components, is now stocking the FUSB300C Programmable USB Type-C Controller from Fairchild Semiconductor. This thin client solution detects attachment and orientation to USB Type-C devices with software flexibility that provides support for multiple platforms.

The Fairchild FUSB300C Programmable USB Type-C Controller, now available from Mouser Electronics, is a generic hardware solution for designers looking to implement a DRP/DFP/UFP connector with the USB Type-C specification. The FUSB300C automates VBUS threshold detection as well as the various charging current levels, and includes an integrated VCONN power switch. The controller is programmable across multiple platforms through a fast mode I2C-bus interface.

The FUSB300C determines attachment through multiple comparators and a programmable 6 bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC). The DAC determines the state of the VBUS and two configuration channel (CC) pins and relays information about attach/detach and charging current capabilities. The controller is rated for a typical VDD supply voltage (VVDD) of 3.3V, with a typical VBUS supply voltage (VVBUS) of 5V (max. 21V).
The FUSB300C Programmable USB Type-C Controller is well suited for designers who want to create USB Type-C connections for smartphones, tablets, laptops, and wearables.
