Lithium-ion batteries have gone from commonplace to ubiquitous – according to a report by Cirba Solutions, a full 99% of respondents reported using lithium battery-powered items daily.
The problem comes with the batteries’ disposal – or lack thereof. Less than 50% of respondents recycle their lithium-ion batteries, and of those who don’t, more than ¾ hold onto them because they don’t know how to safely dispose of them.
