Rainbow Technology Systems to strengthen its presence in Asia

    06/17/2013

Specialist PCB equipment manufacturer Rainbow Technology Systems (RTS) has announced a number of developments to strengthen its presence in the Asian electronics sector. RTS is the company behind a novel process for PCB manufacture, which is more cost-effective, quicker and greener than traditional methods -the Rainbow System. The company has appointed Equis & Zaroo (www.equisnzaroo.com) as its exclusive distributor for South Korea. Equis & Zaroo has been a leading supplier of PCB production equipment in Korea for over 20 years and is quoted on the KOSDAQ exchange (the Korean equivalent of NASDAQ). Rainbow has also announced the sale of a Desktop Coating machine to YMT Speciality Chemicals in Korea. The Desktop Coater incorporates the coating, laminating and imaging of PCB boards in one compact unit making it ideal for R&D prototyping and small scale circuit board production. YMT will be using the equipment for laboratory trials and demonstrations; they are most interested in the machine's capability of processing thin films for flexible printed circuits. In addition, a Panda Coating machine has been sold to a leading electronics company in South Korea for phototool protection and stabilisation. The Panda Coater offers high performance coating facilities applying a thin, hydrophobic, scratch and chemically resistant coating to sheet materials. In October Rainbow will be exhibiting at the TPCA (Taiwan Printed Circuit Association) show in Taipei. Joining them will be their strategic partner in Taiwan, China and Hong Kong, WKK International. For over 30 years WKK International has been one of China's leading distributors and developers of electronic assembly manufacturing equipment and is a public company listed on the Hong Kong stock exchange. Jonathan Kennett, the founder and CEO of Rainbow, said: "The Asian market is absolutely key for us as we develop our ground-breaking PCB technologies. I am pleased to say that we have formed strategic alliances with the market leaders in China and South Korea which will greatly enhance our ability to generate sales in these territories." He added: "Prospects for the next six months look excellent. We have recently doubled our production space at our Glasgow headquarters to 1200 sq m, and recruited additional technical, engineering and marketing staff. In addition we currently have tests on-going with some industry leading companies who are potential beta sites for the Rainbow Process Line. Feedback so far has been extremely positive."
