Renesas Electronics Former Director of Naka Factory Named Winner of the ISMI Excellence Award 2011

Renesas Electronics, a premier provider of advanced semiconductor solutions, today announced that Takashi Aoyagi, the former Director of Naka Factory and (currently President and COO of Renesas Semiconductor Engineering Corp.) was named the winner of the ISMI Excellence Award 2011 by the International SEMATECH Manufacturing Initiative (ISMI). The award was given in recognition for his leadership in guiding the team for the recovery of one of Renesas' wafer fabrication sites, the Naka factory, which was heavily damaged by the 3.11 Great East Japan Earthquake. The winner was announced at an award ceremony on Monday, May 21 at the awards ceremony of ISMI Manufacturing Week 2012 at the Hilton Hotel, San Jose, California. "I am honored and humbled to receive this honor from ISMI, and extend my thanks for this acknowledgement." said Takashi Aoyagi. "I share this award with the brave and dedicated employees, partners and customers who worked tirelessly to recover Renesas after the earthquake. I also extend congratulations to the other finalists, all of whom are deserving of recognition for the leadership they demonstrated in such a difficult year."
