Richardson RFPD announced the availability of the new Silicon Carbide (SiC) six-pack (three phase) power module from Cree. The CCS050M12CM2 is the industry's first commercially available SiC six-pack power module in an industry-standard 45 mm package. The new six-pack SiC 1.2 kV, 50 A module enables high performance, reliable, low cost power conversion systems, offering significant reductions in power losses and corresponding heat sink size requirements, as well as significantly increased power density, when compared to a silicon module with equivalent ratings. The CCS050M12CM2 is ideally suited for solar inverter, uninterruptible power supply (UPS), switched-mode power supply (SMPS), induction heating, regenerative (ReGen) drive, 3-phase power factor correction (PFC), and motor drive applications. Additional features of the CCS050M12CM2 include: Ultra low loss Zero reverse recovery current Zero turn-off tail current High-frequency operation Positive temperature coefficient on VF and VDS(on) Cu base plate, AIN DBC The device is in stock and available for immediate delivery.
