Distributor helps machine and panel builders with pushbutton phase out and move to new 22mm SIRIUS ACT pushbuttons

RS Components aids customers in transition to latest Siemens pushbutton and signalling device range

    06/13/2018

RS Components has announced it is working closely with Siemens to help customers with the phase out of the manufacturer’s SIRIUS 3SB3 22mm pushbutton range and the migration to Siemens’ SIRIUS ACT range of devices.

In October 2017, Siemens announced the beginning of a gradual phase-out period – lasting two years – of its 22mm SIRIUS 3SB3 command and signalling devices, providing customers with enough time to migrate to the newer range of ACT pushbutton devices. From October 2019, Siemens will cease delivery of the SIRIUS 3SB3.

To help customers such as machine and panel builders in the migration to the ACT range, RS has prepared a cross-reference list from SB3 to CT devices. This list, which is available on the RS website, includes the RS stock numbers and Siemens part codes, as well as further information to ensure a smooth changeover path for customers. In addition, RS has also created a dedicated page on its DesignSpark website – at http://www.designspark.com – to provide customers with access to all the important information and available tools in one place.

The SIRIUS ACT series of pushbuttons offers very modern design options with four different lines to suit customers’ facilities, as well as being extremely rugged, offering a degree of protection to IP69K, even without protective caps. The devices also deliver highly flexible communications via standard wiring or direct connection to controllers via AS-Interface, IO-Link or PROFINET. In addition, the pushbuttons are easy to deploy with simple installation and online configuration and ordering.

The SIRIUS ACT pushbuttons are available from RS in the EMEA and Asia Pacific regions. More information is available at https://www.rs-online.com/designspark/modernize-your-control-panel
