RS Components and SCHURTER extend cooperation with global distribution agreement

RS Components (RS), the trading brand of Electrocomponents, a leading distributor of electronics and maintenance products, has signed a global distribution agreement with SCHURTER, a specialist in the design and manufacture of electronic and electromechanical components. This global agreement broadens the scope of the existing relationship between the two companies, which have partnered since 2002 to develop sales of SCHURTER's product portfolio across Europe. During the past two years, the companies have intensified their cooperation, introducing more than 200 new SCHURTER lines to RS stock, which now comprises around 1,500 parts from the manufacturer, including a range of fuses, connectors and switches, as well as input systems such as touch panels and keypads. All parts are listed in ModelSource, the new web-based component library from RS, and 3D CAD models of many of these devices are also now available to download free-of-charge from the RS website, or from DesignSpark.com, the RS online community for engineers. "Closer cooperation with RS over the past couple of years has led to tangible positive results for our business, with significant double digit growth in key regions in Europe," said Hans-Rudolf Schurter, Chairman and CEO of the SCHURTER Group.
