Ruggedized AC/DC Converter Lines w/ Vast Temperature Ranges

    02/25/2021

Murata introduced several AC/DC converter product lines developed for the Industrial, Automation, IoT, Smart Buildings, Medical, and Security markets – the BAC1, BAC3, and BAC05. These solutions feature wide industrial temperature ranges and have been ruggedized to operate efficiently in the most demanding environments. Further, with reinforced insulation, they deliver unsurpassed safety qualifications for both AC and DC input voltage operation, making them ideal for battery backups systems. Also, class-leading power consumption achieves a reduction of at least 50 percent and a 300 percent increase in hold up times when compared to existing solutions.

The 1W BAC1, 3W BAC 3, and 5W BAC05 operate in the -40°C to 85°C range. While input and output voltages vary, all are highly efficient and deliver class-leading features such as reduced leakage current, isolation capacitance, increased hold-up times, and diminished line regulation. Further, with miniaturized foot prints, each series is EMC class B compliant without the need of any external components. Approval is pending for 1 MOPP and 2 MOOP, making them well suited for medical applications. Finally, all have achieved UL recognition: the BAC1 with UL60950 and EN60950, while the others UL62368.
