VTVSxxASMF series SMT transient voltage suppressor

Rutronik offers Vishay’s TVS-Diodes with 400W surge capability in a compact SMF package

    08/17/2016

Distributor Rutronik offers the new VTVSxxASMF series of surface-mount transient voltage suppressor (TVS) protection diodes from Vishay as of now. They are the industry’s first to feature a 2% breakdown voltage tolerance. They are ideal for line transient voltage protection in space-constrained electronics, such as laptops, notebooks, tablets, smartphones, and external hard drives.

Vishay’s VTVSxxASMF series consists of 23 devices with working voltages from 5V to 63V. The TVS diodes come in a SMF package with low 1mm profile and have a high surge capability of 400W at 10/1000µs as well as a peak pulse current from 2.9A to 20.3A. Their excellent reverse clamping voltage ranges from 14.8V to 103.5V, their operating temperature from -55°C to +150°C.

They support high-temperature soldering up to 260°C/10s at their terminals. The series’ ESD capability of ±30kV (air and contact discharge) is in accordance with IEC61000-4-2. The TVS diodes feature low-noise technology and offer very fast response times as well as low incremental surge resistance.
