SL Power MB60S medical power supply

SL Power Electronics, a division of SL Industries and an industry leader in the design and manufacture of rugged, highly reliable power supplies, announced its MB60S single output, convection cooled, wide temperature range power supply that provides 60 watts of power in an ultra-compact 2” x 3” x 1.0” package. Joining SL Power’s line of high-density open frame AC/DC medical-grade power supplies, the MB60S is approved to the highest safety standards, including EN/IEC/UL60601-1, 3rd edition with Means of Patient Protection (2x MOPP). The MB60S models are certified for use in both patient vicinity and patient contact applications (i.e., blood pressure monitors or ultrasound equipment), where equipment is used near, or comes in direct contact with, the patient.

The new models feature a universal input of 90 to 264Vac and DC outputs range from 12V to 48V. Moreover, these high power density power supplies are ideal for surgical, imaging, medical devices, home health-care systems and laboratory equipment needing a highly reliable and energy efficient power solution in a small form factor at an affordable cost.

“With our easy to integrate MB60S power supply, customers will be assured of the highest reliability and efficiency in one of the most compact packages in the industry,” said Maggie Nadjmi, product manager for SL Power. “The MB60S’s compliance to Level V efficiency standards allows our customers to apply for an Energy Star rating for their end device.”

The MB60S power supply operates from -10°C to 80°C with -40°C start-up and has less than 0.5W of no-load power consumption. In addition, the six standard models are fully protected against short circuit, overload, and over-temperature conditions. An overvoltage protection circuit will prevent the supply from damaging the host product.

Featuring a three-year warranty, the RoHS compliant MB60S models meet stringent EMC requirements for applications requiring Class B EMI. In addition, the models have more than 700,000 hours of calculated Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) and have cUL, CE, CB, and DEMKO approval markings.

Available now through SL Power’s extensive distribution sales channels, OEM pricing starts at $34.00 each for 500 piece orders.
