Sondrel, a leading system-to-silicon IC design consultancies, is to share its expertise with an audience from all parts of the UK electronic systems, microelectronics and semiconductor industry at the forthcoming NMI event on IC design verification. The conference, entitled Accelerating Verification – faster, smarter? is being held on Wednesday 25 June at CFMS, an independent centre for modelling and simulation located on the Bristol & Bath Science Park. A whole day event focussing on this key element of the design process, it is sponsored by design software tool vendors Cadence, Mentor Graphics and Synopsys.

Sondrel’s presentation “A low power IOT SoC Design using UPF & Veloce HW Emulation” will be given by Wayne Wu, Business Development Director, Verification Services. Wayne Wu explains, “A typical SoC design for ‘mobile’ or IOT applications consists of one or more embedded processors, GPUs and various I/O interfaces, with the added complexity of being low power, mixed mode, RF and SIP. Based on a real project, this paper presents an efficient way to reduce the overall verification time of a typical IOT mixed mode SoC device.
