In stock at Powell Electronics, the supplier of connectors and more for high-rel applications including defense, aerospace and industrial, are Han-Modular Domino modules from Harting. The modular connector series enables a hybrid combination of transmission media in one module. Just as a domino has two separate fields, a domino module is made up of two ‘cubes’. The mating face consists of two almost square areas in which larger contacts can also be accommodated. The cubes support the configuration of ‘customized’ connectors that are precisely tailored to the requirements of a design. Power, signals, data or compressed air as well as pin and socket contacts can be combined in one module. This opens up new possibilities for optimization, including space and weight savings of up to 50%. At the same time, the CO2 footprint is reduced across the board - from the production of the connectors to transport and use by the customer.

Han-Modular Domino modules are compatible with all the components of Harting’s Han-Modular series, the market standard for modular industrial connectors. Therefore, the Domino modules can be easily integrated into existing systems; existing frames, hoods and housings or connector modules can be used and complemented. A Han-Modular Domino module therefore enables the transmission of power, signals, data or compressed air, as male and female contacts can be combined in one domino module.

Installers also benefit from shorter assembly times. Due to the reduced connector size, assembly areas that are difficult to reach can be equipped more efficiently or even opened up for assembly in the first place, e.g. in the narrow installation space of rail vehicles. This significantly reduces assembly costs.
