    SPS IPC Drives 2013 analysis confirms event significance

    The high quality of the event and its significance for the electric automation industry have once again been validated by the exhibitors and visitors at last year’s SPS IPC Drives.

    Exhibitors pinpoint their target groups
    For its 1,622 exhibitors, SPS IPC Drives 2013 served as a communications platform with trade visitors who were both extremely knowledgeable and had decision-making powers. The following results taken from the visitor survey verify this: 75 % of visitors have a role in the purchasing decisions of their company. 62 % of visitors work in Design & Development, Executive Management or Production. So it is not surprising that 97 % of the exhibitors would recommend the event to their colleagues and clients.

    A comprehensive market overview for visitors
    Thanks to the extensive range of exhibits, 92 % of the 60,027 visitors stated that they had identified tailored solutions and products for their company, including many new ones. In fact, 78 % of exhibitors used the exhibition to launch their new products to the trade audience.

    The event provided a high level of visitor satisfaction and saw visitor expectations being met, as confirmed in the following findings: 98 % of visitors would recommend the event to their colleagues and clients and 91 % are planning to attend SPS IPC Drives 2014. 92 % of visitors rate the trade exhibition as good or good overall.

    The event’s internationality strengthened still further
    23 % (13,779) of the visitors came from abroad. The top 5 countries of origin among visitors were Austria, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Italy and the Netherlands. In total the visitors came from 76 countries. With 485 companies coming from outside Germany, the proportion of international companies amounted to 29.9 %. In total 42 exhibiting nations were represented.

    In 48 presentations and 2 keynote speeches 316 delegates discussed the latest trends, advances and solutions in electric automation. The conference thus confirmed its role as the stage for an exchange of knowledge between experts and users.
