Stainless-steel power resistors operate to +250°C

    04/26/2013

Vishay Intertechnology presents the new VSGR series for applications in extreme environments. The stainless steel power resistors come with high power capability up to 20kW at 40°C and a high operating temperature range of -25°C to +250°C. The series is available at distributor Rutronik as of now. The new, robust Vishay Draloric VSGR provides protection IP00 to IP23 and will be used as a converter and brake resistor in windmill, solar, diesel generator, turbine, and railway applications. It is available with a power rating from 5kW to 20kW and a resistance range from 0.1 Ohm to 75 Ohm. Its resistance tolerance amounts to ±5% and ±10%, the temperature coefficient (TCR) is 250ppm/K. The RoHS-compliant resistor offers an easy-to-mount design and complies with Vishay Green Standards. Rutronik
