    These are the Internet's Most Popular Electric Car Models, According to New Study

    ­Electric cars are taking the world by storm, with a number of large, well-known brands now dipping their toes into the EV market. 

    However, what are the go-to car models that everyone is searching for when it comes to EVs? A new study by Select Car Leasing reveals just this.  

    Using a scoring system based on quantitative analysis of Instagram hashtags, TikTok views, TikTok hashtags and Google searches, the team were able to reveal the electric car brands currently dominating the Internet. 

    Tesla takes the lead as the most popular EV model on the internet with its Model 3, scoring 38.5/40. 

    The electric car, built for safety, quick acceleration and long range, is proving to be extremely popular with a Google Searches score of 10/10 (2.1 million searches).

    The electric Fiat 500 lands in second place for its online popularity, with a respectable score of 36.7 out of 40.

    The model has an Instagram Hashtag Score of 10/10 (1.9 million hashtags), a Tiktok Hashtag Score of 9.6/10 (852 million hashtags), a TikTok Views Score of 7.8/10 (385.2 million views). 

    Tesla takes another spot in the top three with its Model Y, scoring an impressive 35.6/40 for its popularity on the internet.
