Tyco Electronics (TE) announces that Matthew Williams, Global Applications Engineering Manager for Tyco Electronics Circuit Protection business unit, will present at the Motor, Drive & Automation Systems Conference 2011 being held March 1-2 in San Antonio, Texas. During his presentation, "Coordinated Circuit Protection Solutions for Power Supplies, Relays, Solenoids and Controllers," he will discuss how a coordinated strategy can help to improve equipment reliability, reduce component count and facilitate compliance with critical safety agency requirements. "Because overcurrent and overvoltage protection are often viewed as two unrelated elements of the circuit protection design process, protection methods can result in costly, multi-component solutions, and synergies between protective devices can be overlooked," said Williams. "By starting with a coordinated approach, designers can accelerate the development process and help make sure their equipment will meet regulatory agency requirements." Williams will outline specific solutions for a variety of applications, including circuit design, test results and requirements for meeting IEC 61000-4-5, UL 2231 and UL1449 standards. He will also discuss the benefits of resettable overcurrent protection in automotive, industrial, communications and consumer electronics applications. Matt Williams' presentation will be held Wednesday, March 2nd at 11:00 a.m. More information about conference sessions can be found here. www.te.com
