    Ultra-Compact, High-Efficiency Medically-Certified Power Supplies

    12/16/2021

Advanced Energy launched the Excelsys Xsolo XB1000 series. The ultra-compact single-output AC-DC power supplies for Type BF medical applications feature market-leading 92% efficiency and user-defined output setpoint voltages.

XB1000 power supplies have the safety approvals required to simplify and speed the development and certification of a wide range of applications, including acoustically sensitive laboratory and medical systems requiring Type B (body) and Type BF (body floating) ratings.

The XB1000 is supplied in a compact 1U package, with maximum output power up to 1000 W with output voltages in 24 or 48 V. Meeting the stringent creepage and clearance requirements for medical applications, the XB1000 provides 4 kVAC isolation, 2 MOPP, as well as the low leakage currents required for Body Floating (BF) applications. Full international medical safety certifications include UL/EN60601-1 3rd Edition.

Designed for optimum flexibility, the new power supplies combine user-defined output setpoint voltages with wide adjustment ranges and features such as variable fan speed, output voltage and current control. The ability to operate the supplies in parallel allows users to scale system power for applications requiring ratings beyond 1000 W. Optional PMBus communications based on the I2C protocol equip users with an intelligent digital platform to monitor power supply performance.
