Ultra-Wide Input DC/DC Converters for Railway and High-Voltage

    04/26/2018

The ultra-wide input-voltage range of the latest DC/DC converters from Dengrove Electronic Components gives extra flexibility when designing equipment to be powered from high-voltage batteries, or to operate from various different standardised supply voltages.

Now in stock at Dengrove, the RECOM RPA100H and RPA200H have a 10:1 input range allowing operation from 16.5V to 140V. Compliant with EN 50155, the European norm for electronic equipment designed for railway rolling stock, they can work with any nominal input voltage from 24V to 110V used in railway systems, and safely handle transients as specified in the standard.

Rated at 100-Watt and 200-Watt respectively, the converters have a single output selectable as 12V, 15V, 24V or 48V. Typical operating efficiency of up to 93% extends runtime in battery-powered applications, and helps simplify thermal management. To maximise reliability the modules have an integrated metal baseplate that allows operation in high ambient temperatures, up to 97°C with active cooling. In addition, the case features threaded inserts that allow bolting to the PCB or a bulkhead in applications subject to high shock or vibration.

The RPA100H and RPA200H are certified to IEC/UL/EN 60950-1, and all units are covered by a three-year manufacturer’s warranty.
