Vishay Intertechnology's IHLP® Production Line at Be'er Sheva, Israel Plant Receives Sony Green Partner Certification

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today announced that the company's IHLP® production line at its Be'er Sheva, Israel, plant has received Sony Green Partner certification through 2013. The certification recognizes that the production line for Vishay's IHLP low-profile, high-current inductors has successfully passed the program's rigorous environmental requirements, and highlights Vishay's commitment to the environment. Launched in March 2002, Sony's Green Partner program requires suppliers to comply with policies that prevent and minimize hazardous environmental impact in product development and manufacturing. To become a Sony Green Partner, suppliers must pass a series of inspections in environmental, operational, and engineering management systems before qualifying. Inductors in Vishay's IHLP series offer high maximum frequencies and a wide range of inductance values, currents, and package sizes. The devices handle high transient current spikes without hard saturation. Packaged in an RoHS-compliant, 100 % lead (Pb)-free shielded, composite construction that reduces buzz noise to ultra-low levels, the IHLP series is specified for an operating temperature range of 55 °C to + 125 °C with high resistance to thermal shock, moisture, mechanical shock, and vibration. The IHLP line joins Vishay's WSL® Power Metal Strip® resistor line, produced in the same facility, which has been a Sony Green Partner since July 2003.
