Vitreous enamel-coated wirewound resistors serve high-power motor & industrial apps

    06/22/2013

Stackpole's EWT Series of vitreous enamel-coated tubular wirewounds are a good choice for high power load dump applications. The EWT Series is available in power ratings from 12 watts up to 1300 watts and the vitreous enamel coating withstands temperatures of up to 500°C. The robust wire element withstands thousands of high power load dumps without failure or significant resistance shift. Resistance values available range from 1 ohm to 1 Meg ohm in tolerances of 5% or 10%. Typical applications include high power motor controls, welding equipment, plasma cutters, power supplies and drilling equipment. Pricing for standard configurations varies depending on size and tolerance and ranges from $1.25 each to $110 each in minimum quantities. Stackpole Electronics
