Vivint Solar Nationally Deploys SolarEdge’s DC Optimized Inverters with Rapid Shutdown and Revenue-Grade Metering

Vivint Solar deploys SolarEdge’s optimized inverters nationwide

    04/28/2015

SolarEdge Technologies, a leader in PV inverters, power optimizers, and module-level monitoring services, today announced an expanded supply arrangement with Vivint Solar, a leading provider of distributed solar energy systems. Vivint Solar will purchase and install SolarEdge’s optimized DC inverters with integrated rapid shutdown and revenue-grade metering in its installations nationwide.

SolarEdge inverters with embedded rapid shutdown functionality provide an additional layer of safety for workers and firefighters in accordance with the 2014 National Electric Code, which is being adopted in a growing number of states nationwide. Additionally, with SolarEdge’s integrated revenue-grade metering, Vivint Solar customers with a SolarEdge inverter system will have full access to the level of data accuracy required to collect performance-based financial incentives, without the need for additional components.

“SolarEdge has established itself as a key inverter supplier to Vivint Solar,” said Jan Newman, Vice President of Business Development for Vivint Solar. “This collaboration enables Vivint Solar to continue to provide our customers with advanced technology while also improving the financials of PV to accelerate adoption across the country.”

“SolarEdge is proud to be a key supplier to Vivint Solar, supporting its leading position in the U.S. PV market,” said Peter Mathews, North America General Manager for SolarEdge. “Together, we have created a highly compelling offering that integrates the features and technologies that Vivint Solar requires for faster, more cost-effective installations.”
