Wireless charging has been on the market for a while, but only now is its impact going to be reverberated globally. Why has this new technology, set to transform our mobile devices, been hidden in the wings for so long? The first reason is that not many mobile phones and tablets had a wireless charging feature, and mobile giants did not supply components to add onto your mobile phone to support it. However, with the onset of this latest global technology, mobile companies now know they have to play the wireless game to stay ahead in the market place. With more and more mobile phones possessing an in-built wireless charging feature, or allowing you to buy components to synch your mobile with a wireless charging mat, mobile giants such as Nokia or Samsung are jumping on the bandwagon. With the onset of wireless charging, the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) has been established, and it has created and maintained Qi (pronounced "chee") which is the global standard for compatible wireless charging. All this meaning that, any device which carries the Qi logo, will be guaranteed to work with any charging pads that also carry the Qi logo, regardless of manufacturer or brand.
