Wolfson WM1811 for Samsung Galaxy S III

    06/26/2012

Wolfson Microelectronics, designer and developer of mixed-signal semiconductors and HD audio applications for the consumer electronics market, has had its ultra-low power HD Audio Hub, WM1811, selected by Samsung for the new smartphone, GALAXY S III. Samsung and Wolfson have a strong partnership, with Wolfson having designed WM8994 Audio Hub into several of Samsung's smartphones, including Samsung Wave and Galaxy S. The WM1811 provides crystal-clear voice call quality, enriched audio playback for music and video, yet minimising power consumption, and enabling manufacturers to create outstanding HD audio user experiences with long battery life. Saying he was delighted that Samsung had again demonstrated its confidence in Wolfson's audio hub solutions by incorporating the WM1811 into its flagship GALAXY S III, Wolfson's CEO Mike Hickey added "Our continued success with Samsung, particularly within its range of smartphones and tablets, is testament to the unrivalled quality of our HD Audio Hubs." www.wolfsonmicro.com
