VEL and VER series wall supplies

XP Power's latest wall-plug PSUs comply with updated energy efficiency standards

    08/12/2016

XP Power announced additions to its range of wall mounted plug-in power supplies with the launch of the VEL and VER series, providing a wide range of power levels and meeting the energy efficiency and no load requirements of the new DoE Energy Efficiency Level VI and the EU CoC Tier 2 standards.

Complementing the 5 & 12 Watt recently released models, both series are available in 18, 24 and 36 Watt single output models. All the popular nominal output voltages of 9, 12, 15, 18 and 24 VDC are available, with the 18 Watt models also providing a 5 VDC output unit. The VEL series is available with a fixed input plug configuration accommodating US, UK or EU format. The VER models are provided with a set of US, UK, EU and Australian interchangeable input plugs. The output is delivered through an industry standard 2.1 x 5.5 x 12 mm barrel jack on a 1.5 m cable.

The VEL and VER series are approved to the international IEC/EN/UL/cUL 60950-1 safety standards for IT equipment and comply with the Class B limits of EN55022 for both conducted and radiated emissions. All models are approved as a limited power source (LPS) so that should any faults occur the output power is limited to a safe level. Also, with their Class II construction, no separate earth/ground connection is required.

The VEL/VER series can be used across the range 0 to + 60 degrees, with full power available up to + 45 degrees C. The VEL series is priced at $9.54 for 500 pcs orders of the fixed plug VEL18. The interchangeable plug VER18 model is priced at $11.04 for 500 pcs orders and is available from Allied Electronics, Digi-Key, Newark or direct from XP Power and come with a 3 year warranty.
