    Energy Micro's Tiny Gecko energy-friendly microcontroller shortlisted in 2012 ACE Asia Awards

    Energy Micro, the energy friendly microcontroller and radio company, today announced that its EFM32 Tiny Gecko low-energy microcontroller has been named as a finalist in the China Annual Creativity in Electronics (ACE) awards. The awards, sponsored by the EETimes Group and Global Sources, will be presented during IIC-China 2012 in Shenzhen on February 24, 2012. They recognize the technologies, companies and people that shape innovative electronics design in mainland China. Energy Micro President and CEO Geir Førre said: "We're very honored to have been selected by EETimes and Global Sources' editors for this special recognition. The Tiny Gecko utilizes the advanced technologies behind the world's most energy friendly microcontrollers, with small footprint packages and at a sub-Dollar price point." The EFM32 Tiny Gecko devices are entry-level products for low power applications subject to stringent PCB space and product cost limitations, based on the ARM Cortex-M3 architecture. They offer the energy-efficient performance of the company's bigger Gecko products, combined with smaller Flash and RAM configurations and a choice of space saving QFN20, QFN32 and QFN64 packaging. The complete Gecko product range is benchmarked to use less than a quarter of the energy needed by alternative 8-, 16- or 32-bit microcontrollers. The EFM32 Tiny Gecko devices and development kit will be demonstrated at this years Embedded World tradeshow in Germany, stand 1-523.
