Siemens Industry, Inc. announced that it will host its 2012 Automation Summit at the Renaissance Washington, D.C. Downtown Hotel, June 25-28. The Summit will provide engineering and operational professionals, automation and operations management and senior-level executives with end user learning opportunities covering the complete spectrum of automation--from process and discrete to motion control and drives. The 2012 Automation Summit follows its theme of "Community. Experiences. Productivity." by offering more than 50 breakout sessions, and providing added emphasis to hands-on training, specifically around several new and upgraded Siemens products, including TIA Portal, Simotion Version 4.2 and PCS 7 Version 8. "We're excited about hosting the 2012 Automation Summit in our nation's Capital, and plan to provide attendees a unique experience, both professionally and personally. Track sessions will include topics such as energy and asset management, improve productivity through the application of automation technology, maintenance and operations, novel approaches to problem resolution and safety and cyber security. Siemens plans to build upon last year's Technology Café with a tips and tricks theater where users can experience the breadth and depth of the Siemens portfolio and meet with Siemens experts in an informal, hands-on and personalized environment. The 2012 Summit will also feature a Connect Event, using the latest in mobile app technology to help build, connect and maintain relationships among Siemens users and solution partners "Each year, Automation Summit gives Siemens end users the opportunity to hear about the latest technology updates, receive hands-on product training from experts, make Siemens' management aware of customer needs and network with peers from other companies," says Jeff Sibley, research scientist at The Dow Chemical Company, and co-chairman of Siemens Process Automation Advisory Council.
