DESIGN CENTERS: LIGHTING & ILLUMINATION

DOE Announces webinars on maintenance practices for LED lighting

    04/10/2014

The relative newness of LED streetlights naturally prompts important questions about maintenance and reliability, and how to take these issues into account when planning and preparing for a transition to LED street lighting. The Energy Department will present a live webinar titled “Maintenance Practices for LED Streetlights” on Monday, April 14, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time.

Presenters Glenn Cooper of the City of Boston, Stephen Crume from the City of Seattle, and Patrick Batte from the City of Las Vegas will discuss actual field experiences of their respective LED street lighting programs and lessons learned along the way. They will also review failure rates and failure modes experienced to date and the associated best practices their programs have developed in response.
