Power management company Eaton will be showcasing its new generation line-interactive UPSs, along with its latest high-efficiency double-conversion models at this year’s CeBIT exhibition. The company will also be highlighting how its Intelligent Power Manager (IPM) software, supplied with all Eaton UPSs designed for professional applications, makes these units an ideal choice for use in virtualised environments. CeBIT takes place in Hannover from 10th to 14th March and Eaton’s stand will be in the Planet Reseller Zone in Hall 15.

“The IT market is today moving strongly toward virtualised environments and converged infrastructure,” says Cyrille Brisson, EMEA Vice-President of Power Quality, “and at CeBIT we will be demonstrating how our latest products support and facilitate these key developments. We’re not talking only about UPSs; we have an extensive range of products – including racks, enclosure distribution systems and software – all of which provide outstanding benefits for users of the leading converged infrastructure offerings such as FlexPod and FlexPod Express from NetApp, and VSPEX from EMC.”

Eaton’s unique IPM software provides close integration with all major virtualisation platforms, including vCenter, CitrixXen and Microsoft, as well as supporting Cisco servers and NetApp data storage devices. IPM not only allows UPSs and other power devices to be managed directly from the virtualisation dashboard but can also, in the event of a power problem, trigger live migration of virtual machines to a backup facility or shut them down gracefully if the power outage is prolonged.

Throughout CeBIT, experts from Eaton will be on hand to provide those attending with advice and guidance on selecting UPS products for specific applications, with the emphasis on combining energy efficiency with versatility, durability and value for money and on optimising performance in virtualised environments. Specialist dealers and resellers will also have the opportunity to discuss the benefits of Eaton’s Power Advantage Partner Program and the company’s Channel-First approach to the UPS market.
