High-Current Jumpers Offer Robust Overload Current Handling

    04/08/2021

Zero ohm jumper chip resistors provide an essential function for circuit design. They make trace routing easier for single layer PCB's, are easier to assemble in mass production and less costly than jumper wires. Some designs however require more robust current handling than general purpose thick film chip jumpers. General purpose chip jumpers are rated for only a few amps of current and overloads of up to 15 amps, whereas

Stackpole's HCJ high current jumpers can handle up to 63 amps continuously and overloads of up to 158 amps. This enables the HCJ to be used in a much wider variety of applications, even those at higher power. The HCJ series is also suited for applications that experience high surge currents where general purpose thick film chip jumpers may fail.

Pricing for the HCJ depends on size ranges from $0.067 to $0.11 each in full package quantities. Contact Stackpole or one of our franchised distribution partners for volume pricing.
