Infineon Supplies SiC Technology to ADVANTICS, Enhancing Efficiency in Power Converters for Megawatt Charging

    07/08/2026
ADVANTICS’ liquid-cooled power conversion platform is based on modular 100 kW building blocks, enabling scalable systems up to the megawatt range.

Infineon Technologies AG will supply CoolSiC™ MOSFETs 1200 V and matching dual-channel EiceDRIVER™ 2EDB9259Y gate drivers to ADVANTICS, a technology leader in silicon carbide (SiC) power electronics and advanced control systems, for its new line of liquid-cooled power converters. The solutions enhance efficiency, power density and reliability in applications such as megawatt charging systems (MCS) for heavy-duty vehicles and vessels, as well as energy storage systems and DC microgrids for data centers. The collaboration helps address the need for faster charging, robust grid infrastructure and more efficient power conversion.

The electrification of heavy-duty vehicles and vessels could have a significant impact on reducing global emissions, yet existing charging infrastructure is often too slow for many industrial vehicles and their operational range. Megawatt charging systems address these challenges by offering almost ten times faster charging to accelerate the transition to electric mobility in heavy trucking, mining and marine. Through their collaboration, Infineon and ADVANTICS are driving the development of MCS, supporting the electrification of sectors long considered difficult to decarbonize.

"Together with ADVANTICS, we are helping accelerate the deployment of megawatt charging infrastructure. Our technologies enable more efficient and compact power conversion systems, supporting the next generation of electric transport applications," said Rodrigo Marquina, Application Manager Power Supply and EV Charging at Infineon.

"It is no longer controversial to say that SiC is the future of high-power conversion. With almost a decade of experience bringing SiC-based power converters to market, our belief in this technology is stronger than ever. Infineon is an important partner for us on this path, and we are very excited to write the next chapters together as we help drive a more sustainable future," said Anders Mikkelsen, Director of R&D and co-founder of ADVANTICS.

ADVANTICS’ liquid-cooled power conversion platform is based on modular 100 kW building blocks, enabling scalable systems up to the megawatt range. The solutions offer bidirectional operation, a wide voltage range up to 1500 V and peak efficiency of up to 98.5 percent, enabling flexible integration with grids, batteries and high-power charging infrastructure. This architecture is designed to support demanding applications in heavy-duty transport, marine and grid-connected energy systems while ensuring reliable and efficient power conversion.

Through continued innovation and collaboration, Infineon and ADVANTICS are powering the transition to a more efficient and sustainable energy infrastructure.
