Audio technology specialist Oxford Digital won the prestigious 2012 NMI Award for outstanding innovation for its TinyCore audio DSP core and tool chain against strong competition at the NMI Awards Dinner this month. The award for outstanding innovation is given to a company that can demonstrate a significant business impact through innovation. Judges look at the business impact on the customer, its novelty factor and the success with customers. Speaking at the event Derek Boyd, CEO of UK electronics trade organisation NMI, said: "In the world of audio being stored on portable devices, there is a strong commercial opportunity for accurately tuned audio systems and we were therefore delighted to commend Oxford Digital's audio tool chain." John Richards commented "Semiconductor manufacturers really appreciate the disruptive effect that the TinyCore tool chain has on both time to market and low on-going software maintenance requirements and we are delighted with this recognition by the NMI's Innovation award".
